Account Director (PR)

 

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a PR-focused account leader to join an innovative marketing agency. For this role, knowledge of consumer tech, or similar lifestyle CPG space is preferred.
 

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain a vast and ever-growing understanding of the modern, evolving PR toolbox – and using those tools to come up with creative

    ideas to achieve client communication objectives.

  • Lead planning and strategy for client plans and new business proposals (with the help of senior leadership)

  • Act as day-to-day lead, both agency and client-side, including regular conference calls and clear, concise briefings for planning roll-outs

  • Hold solid relationships with media and influencers; confidently able to identify best fit per client

  • Pitch concepts for clients based on project objectives and industry trends; secure consistent and high-quality media placements

  • Day-to-day account management of junior team members

  • Budget management inclusive of all owned projects

Required experience & Skills

  • Experience with account management

  • College or university degree

  • Post-secondary courses in public relations or a related field is preferred (Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field)

  • Accountable for results matched with an ability to identify solutions when programs derail or are not landing as expected

  • Well rounded client experience that provides foundation for intelligent, thoughtful client counsel

  • The ability to see around corners and predict potential issues or opportunities for both clients and the team

  • Succinct, clear writing skills, notably for client email recommendations/position statements

  • Able to pause, reflect and give clear direction when unfavourable situations are presented (basically unflappable!)
