VP (Director) of Digital Strategy

 

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Digital Strategy to join one of the largest and most awarded creative agencies in North America. This opportunity is for a strategic, digital leader.

This role is remote. Candidates must be currently living in and eligible to work in Canada.

Job Summary

The Digital Director is a vital member of the agency helping drive and deliver digital services to all agency clients. A member of the local management committee, you will be responsible for ensuring award-winning quality digital products and programs, collaborating with our creative, media and accounts teams. You will engage with both pure play and integrated clients, lead and mentor the digital team, and work to attract new business to the agency as part of our new business development team. A thought leader and digital champion, you set a high bar for excellence.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Consultation

  • Consult on clients’ digital marketing requirements

  • Collaborate with agency strategists, account directors and creatives to identify and help shape digital opportunities and programs.

  • Create and direct delivery of digital marketing programs for a cross-section of clients

  • Direct and oversee delivery of:

    • Content strategy and development

    • Social media strategy and service delivery

    • Website design and development

Communication

  • Deliver compelling presentations to clients and internal audiences

  • Contribute content for agency new business development efforts (RFPs and pitches)

Relationships

  • Manage and mentor team members to improve skills and performance

  • Be a trusted advisor to our clients and agency teams

  • Manage relationships with digital suppliers and network partners (CRM team, development teams, etc.)

Creativity

  • Research and lead the adoption of progressive digital solutions and channels

  • Collaborate in the creative process on digital opportunities

 Leadership

  • Champion digital throughout the agency to build team knowledge and capability

  • Identify ways to expand and improve the agency’s digital offering

  • Hire new team members as required (supported by HR)

  • Contribute to agency new business development

  • Represent and build agency profile within the industry,

  • Provide added-value thought leadership to clients through presentations and other tactics

Required experience & Skills

  • 7-10 years experience in the industry

  • Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree

  • Proven experience with digital across all platforms

  • Proficient in program measurement, analytics and evaluation

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Proactive, self-motivated, collaborative and highly curious; customer centric; strives for excellence
