Vice-President/GAD Level Business Lead
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a seasoned client and account leader to work for with a leading edge integrated communication agency. This role will spearhead a fast-paced global Technology software company with the support of an existing core team including account services, project management, and a large creative team.
Job Summary
Reporting into the Managing Director and working closely with the CEO and executive teams, this account leader is a natural collaborator who confidently brings agency resources and clients across disciplines together to solve problems with holistic communication and design strategies. This person will be responsible for straddling day-to-day account management including overseeing the financial health of the business and agency resources (with a very strong PM team), with strategically building senior client relationships, acting as a trusted business partner and uncovering growth opportunities before they exist.
The Group Account Director is a talented consensus builder and has solid experience navigating intricate client relationships – especially at large, sprawling organizations with multiple stakeholders who have competing priorities. They understand the nuances of the B2B mindset (and ideally the B2B tech mindset), with a desire to approach this audience through fresh thinking and a consumer-oriented lens in order to push creative and communications strategy in a way that drives results. This person is excited about co-creating process and new ways of working to simplify complexity and help the business run as efficiently as possible. Ideally, they understand the principles of experience design (XD), content marketing, sales enablement and go-to-market strategies favoured by B2B tech sales and marketing organizations. They embody integrated in the fullest sense of the word – as it applies to a holistic understanding of the client’s business, agency workflow and flawless execution.

Role Responsibilities
Maintain a complete understanding of the client’s business including product innovation, marketing and sales challenges/goals, category/industry competition
Lead communication strategy development, provide client and agency guidance
Forge and foster strategic relationships with key clients, seek out new client relationships that are important to supporting and building the business
Oversee AM & PM team’s flawless execution of effective advertising and other forms of storytelling that is on strategy, on time and on budget (although not much needed as we have an awesome PM team)
Maintain an understanding of projects happening across the account, while taking an active leadership role on more strategic programs and projects
Champion the client’s business within the agency and promote a deeper understanding of the product category.
Drive annual, seasonal and long-range planning process on an integrated account
Provide smart solutions to marketing problems and create opportunities for innovative work
Responsible for revenue growth on account, which includes seeking out business building opportunities
Contribute positively to agency culture
Required experience & Skills
Experience in B2B marketing (or enterprise tech) and / or have a personal passion for this space
10+ years of agency experience in effectively leading large agency teams for enterprise-sized clients with multiple stakeholders
Proven strategic skill, experience working on integrated projects and solid knowledge of the digital space
Strong history in managing senior client relationships and business growth
Bachelor’s Degree recommended
Advertising, digital or communications post-graduate accreditation an asset
