Our client, one of Canada’s largest mortgage lenders, is looking for a Vice President of Marketing and Communications to lead their communications and digital marketing strategies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strategic marketing communications plan from the ground up with a focus on nurturing investor and borrower relations.

Overview

This is a key cross-functional leadership role that will drive transformational growth for the business and brand, positioning them as a choice investment fund and lender. The VP brings a keen eye and attention to detail, and will lead the development of marketing and investor collateral, creating a consistent tone and voice for the brand.

A leader in real estate investing for over 50-years, our client oversees one of Canada’s largest private mortgage funds. They take great pride in their relationship with investors which are comprised of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, endowments, and pension plans. Their a team of entrepreneurial problem-solving experts whose diligent and solutions focused approach creates value to investors and borrowers alike.

Reporting to the Managing Partner and working closely with firm partners, the VP will build and roll-out a strategy that nurtures existing stakeholder relations and reaches a broader target audience engaging both investors and borrowers.

Tapping into digital marketing expertise, the successful candidate will amplify social media use and create a strategy positioning the client as a choice investment fund and lender. The VP will identify publications and partners to engage in digital campaigns targeting prospective high net worth individual investors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing branding and marketing strategies and improving upon them.

  • Lead an internal marketing team and external agency partners.

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets, and allocating resources appropriately.

  • Monitor industry trends and conduct market research to identify opportunities for marketing content and/or stakeholder communications.

  • Supervising marketing events and launches.

  • Instill best practices and processes.

  • Develop annual marketing plans.

  • Plan, monitor, and meet department budget goals.

  • Manage external agency partners (Public Relations and Graphic Design).

  • Manage small team of internal supports.

  • Reporting to executive team and working closely to define strategic direction

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in a similar role working on complex marketing initiatives with internal resources and external agencies.

  • 15+ years well rounded professional experience in marketing, communications, brand management and business development, preferably in the financial sector.

  • BSc in Marketing, Communications, or similar field.

  • Superb marketing and research skills.

  • Knowledge and practical experience with SEO, digital marketing tools, and related software.

  • Highly observant and analytical.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to make difficult decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Willingness to travel and work long hours.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop plans that will drive results.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Fluent in English
