We’re hiring a Director/Head of Project Management for one of the fastest growing social cause agencies in Canada!

We’re looking for candidates with a strong leadership background and experience leading PM teams across integrated strategic communications from big national TV to local digital marketing, social and mobile video campaigns. Our client is a national full-service advertising agency committed to social causes with a particular focus on the labour movement, healthcare, and issues of economic, social, and environmental justice. The Role:

As the incoming Head of Project Management, you’ll lead our client’s team of exceptional and determined Producers from all over the country, who passionately work across full-service integrated campaigns. You’ll manage a portfolio of complex projects and client relationships and be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of an exceptional experience to both internal teams and external clients.

You are a natural people leader, passionate about bringing complex ideas to life with a continuous improvement mindset. Reporting to the Managing Partner you can be based in Vancouver, Toronto, or Ottawa. Exceptions may be made for truly exceptional candidates in other locations within Canada.

Job Responsibilities:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Produce full suite of campaign deliverables (any scale), managing internal project teams, external suppliers + production budgets (success can be in the form of: delivering on time, on budget, creative output & experience) including large and highly complex campaign

  • Show leadership: own + oversee team process improvements, champion positive change, flag & drive improvements pertaining to our team

  • Design & maintain complex project timelines; plan and project manage major full-service campaigns and anything below that.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project teams & suppliers, finding opportunities to increase flow & fun in-project

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Lead, manage and inspire the Producer team.

  • Assign, monitor and evaluate the work and workflow of the department

  • Coach, train and mentor staff through their work and growth opportunities

  • Ensure the producer team is effectively resourced, manage and track team capacity

  • Work with other team leads and continuously look for opportunity to improve processes

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP:

  • Create yearly and quarterly strategic plans for your team aligned with the organizational goals.

  • Identify improvement opportunities for the Project Experience which expands across the sales, strategy, and creative teams.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior level project manager or producer role

  • At least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team

  • A stellar people leader who knows how to bring out the best in their team members

  • An excellent communicator - a convenor with a knack for simplifying

  • Experienced in planning and managing complex projects with digital task management platforms

  • A planner, with the ability to map out a complex project

  • A problem solver who knows how to diagnose an issue and convene the right people to solve it.

  • Experienced in process creation and improvements.

  • This position requires some travel and non-standard work hours as needed, to complete the required responsibilities.

  • A big plus would be experience working on progressive digital campaigns in the political, non-profit, and/or union sector
